What is the Affordable Connectivity Program?

Congress recently created the Affordable Connectivity Program, a long-term, $14 billion programs, which will replace the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program. This investment in broadband affordability will help ensure we can afford the internet connections we need for work, school, health care, and more for a long time.

Who Is Eligible for the Affordable Connectivity Program?
The household income is equal to or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. The household participates in specific assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance, SSI, WIC, or Lifeline. The household participates in Tribal-specific programs, such as Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance, Tribal TANF, or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations. The household is authorized to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including via the USDA Community Eligibility Provision during the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, or 2021-2022 school years. A member of the household was awarded a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year. The household fulfills the eligibility requirements for a participating provider's current low-income program.

What is the estimated time for approval?

Typically, an application is approved within 20-30 minutes. However, some applications may take 3-4 days or even more to be approved as proof documentation needs to be reconfirmed. You can track the status of your application by logging into your account. After receiving approval, you will receive an email confirmation that includes a tracking number for your order.

What happens to customers enrolled in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program?

Once the transition period is over, your benefits will be seamlessly transferred to the new Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) without any additional steps required from you.
