Understand the insomnia treatments we prescribe and their potential risks
One of our doctors or nurse practitioners will review your health assessment before your visit. To start, our medical team recommends focusing on behavioral strategies to help with sleep before adding any sleep medicine. The most effective treatment for insomnia involves sleep strategies in combination with prescription medication, as needed.
Please answer all questions as accurately, especially if you’re taking other medications. It’s critical to your health and safety that the GoMDUSA medical team knows your complete medical history.
As with any medical examination, there’s a small risk we’ll get the diagnosis wrong. Because we can’t meet and examine you in person, there’s the additional possibility that we may miss something medically relevant or give you the wrong advice.
If we’re in any doubt, we’ll ask you to see a doctor in person for a follow-up consultation. We know it’s frustrating, but it’s just not safe to treat certain medical conditions online. GoMDUSA follows evidence-based guidelines and industry standards when diagnosing, prescribing for, and advising our patients online.
